I never thought I would actually see this day come. It almost seems too good to be true: I'm officially a full time knitwear creator.
I toyed with the idea of attempting to keep part time hours at my day job. My coworkers were very understanding, and agreed to try and make it work...however the longer I thought about it, the more I realized I needed to choose one or the other. Although I did love my job as an Admin Assistant, I couldn't deny my passion for the handmade lifestyle. And so, in a bittersweet moment, I gave my notice.
So here I am on my first official day of self-employment, at the start of a new and exciting chapter in my life. It's terrifying and exhilarating and daunting all at the same time.
My head is full of what-ifs. What if I can't handle owning a business full time? What if people stop loving and buying my knitwear? What if I ending up hating it? What if I don't make enough money? What if I fail?
Luckily I have a number of supportive individuals in my life that keep telling me I won't end up broke, homeless and alone with only my unsold knitwear to keep me warm at night. If I don't like it, if it doesn't work out, at least I can say I gave it a shot.
Here I go, plunging into the maker life headfirst. Wish me luck!
