"When you're a mountain person,
you understand the brilliance and beauty of contradiction.
The way land can be your greatest teacher.
How something can be both grounding yet elevating, intoxicating yet soothing,
wild yet serene, intensely primal yet patient,
and cycling yet predictable within the shifts, and rhythms.
Mountains keep us on edge get wrap us in the sensation of safety all at once.
I don't know of anything sweeter, or more magic inducing than that."
- Victoria Erickson.
Hood hat pattern now available in my etsy shop. Mountains, sadly, not included
If anyone needs me, I'll be here. Merry Christmas everyone!!
I'm basking in the texture love of these cozy knits before they're off to their forever home. Also, I enjoy how big and perfect this pinecone is. I keep it on my desk!
Because sometimes, you just need a hood hat to feel like you're gracefully wandering through an enchanted forest with your woodland creature friends.
I have some of these cozy accessories ready to ship in my etsy shop! They are topknot friendly and the closest I will ever get to making a messy bun hat.
Saturday afternoon coffee + special computer project time.
Also, hello 34k followers on instagram! I can't believe there are that many lovely people joining me on cozy instagram journey. I'm putting together a giveaway for 35k, since I totally dropped the ball and missed my 30k chance, so keep an eye out!
Ps. I love this mitten pattern by @theburrow.co because I don't suck at following it!
"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." - Hugh Macmillan.
What a cold and beautiful and snowy couple of days we've had.
We all work hard to build our businesses. We strive to create to the best of our abilities, to get our names out there, to let the handmade world know we exist. We travel down many paths in search of who we want to be as makers, seeking out the "vibe" that feels just right.
In the end though, what do we want our handmade businesses to say about us? I delve into this topic on this week's Question of the Week over at Our Maker life. Read it here!
When a long lost friend comes to say hi at your handmade market, and ends up buying some knits, AND takes a pretty wintery picture wearing her new knitbrooks cowl.
Happy snowcovered Monday!
Good morning, snow-dusted Friday!
I'm drinking all the c☕ffee, squishing all these giant poms, and gathering up the rest of knits for my very last handmade market of 2016.
I'll be heading to Toronto this afternoon for City of Craft, which runs from 6-10 tonight, 11-6 Saturday, and 11-5 Sunday, so if you're in the area, please come say hello!
Hello friends, I'm Kelly! I'm a 27-year-old cozy enthusiast who loves creating things with yarn, exploring the beauty of nature, and eating Brooklyn style pizza.
